Wife School Full Course
Become the kind of wife who brings peace, encouragement, and joy back into your homeâeven if you've fallen into habits you wish you could change.
You never imagined becoming the wife who sighs more than she smiles.
You love your husband. You love your family. And yet somewhere between the pressures of everyday life, unmet expectations, exhaustion, and ordinary sin, you've found yourself becoming more critical than encouraging, more frustrated than thankful, and more focused on changing your husband than examining your own heart.
Maybe your marriage is strong, but you've sensed yourself drifting.
Maybe you're discouraged by the atmosphere in your home.
Maybe you keep saying things you regret.
Or maybe you've simply realized that the wife you want to be isn't the wife you've become.
If any of that sounds familiar, you're not alone.
And more importantly, there is hope.
Wife School was created to help women learn new skills, to train their muscles in a different way. Weâve all been taught the basics of biblical marriage structureâleadership and response, respect and love, Christ and the church.
Weâve been taught these beautiful principles from Ephesians 5, Titus 2, 1 Peter 3, etc. from pulpits and classic Christian marriage books. But what happens if we agree, we love the whole thingâbut we just donât know how to do it?
What if our instincts are all untrained, or trained poorly? What if weâve never seen leadership and respect in real life? Most of our instincts were trained unconsciously. What does it sound like? Look like? Feel like?
This course isnât about creating a cookie-cutter marriage. Itâs about learning the mechanical skills of respect and femininity that will allow you to strengthen your own unique energy and God-given personality into a new phase, to bear more fruit in your own unique marriage. Itâs about learning to build rather than tearing downânot because our husbands are always right, but because God is always at work in His daughters.
We talk a lot in Christian circles about how marriage isnât supposed to make you happy. Itâs supposed to make you holy.
But for goodness sake, wouldnât it be a God-honoring thing to pursue happiness in your marriage? We should seek to enjoy the husbands of our youth, and I believe the Lord will honor any effort we put into pursuing this holy goal.
This course isn't about pretending your husband is perfect or ignoring real difficulties in marriage. It's about asking the most fruitful question of all:
"Lord, what are You teaching me?"

My Story
Everything I just described above is my story. I assumed getting married that I would be GREAT at building my husband up. I had believed all of these biblical truths about marriage (on paper) for a lifetime.
But then I discovered it actually didnât come naturally at all. Instead of building, I found that my natural heart posture was to tear down. I wasnât what you would call a âfighterâ⌠but any uplifting and encouraging words he might have had from me were killed in the womb, before they had a chance to come out of my mouthâkilled by a constant inward monologue about his failings.
I didnât know it at the time, but all of that disrespect actually did show up on the surface. I didnât know what my voice sounded like, or all the decisions I lifted right out of his hands. I didnât know how clearly I was communicating to him: âDonât bother leading; I donât trust you anyway. In fact, Iâm going to intercept and silently criticize your decisions as you make themâabout the kids, about the house, about relationships.â
Of course, this is devastating to a man. But hereâs the thing: itâs devastating to a woman too. No woman can live happily married to a man she doesnât respect. And itâs impossible to respect a man you are constantly managing. And I truly thought it was his fault, the fact that I was managing him.
But when I began to observe the lives of women who actually looked up to their husbands, and whose husbands seemed eager to come home to their wives and serve them, I started to notice some clear patterns.
Ways of being. Unique and flavored differently from marriage to marriage. But very consistentâand easily replicated.
I began to shift, to try some thingsânot really harder, just different. And I was astonished at how he responded, and how my own heart responded. I can genuinely say, in the last 5 years, there has been a huge shift in the temperature of our marriage, and by immediate extension, our home. It started immediately, but it just gets better every year. You donât even know how good it can get, or how hard some things were, until they change.
Iâm happy youâre here. Itâs been a pleasure to hear from all the women who have come on this same journey with me.

What Women Are Saying
âTillie, I can't find the words to say how much help and blessing this course has already been in my marriage and in our home. I am looking forward to continuing to faithfully implement what I've learned. My husband keeps being happily surprised by the changes he sees in me, and we're increasingly blessed in more joy and healthy function in our marriage. Thank you for taking the time and effort it took to put this course together. May the Lord continue to richly bless your home with joy!â
Â
âHey, Tilly! ... I took the class and fell in love with my husband all over again, as cheesy as that sounds, and also learned how to stop dishonoring him since I never grew up with an example of a biblical woman. Tonight, I had 11 ladies in my home (and more are in this group but couldnât make it tonight). We were almost all emotional talking about the âRewriting the Headlinesâ week. Iâve already received two texts from women who have gone home and immediately reconciled some serious issues with their husbands. Just wanted to send you some encouragement. Thank you for writing this course!â
Â
âPurchased your course this afternoon and blitzing right through it. As a newly married lady, Iâm finding it so edifying because you often articulate things (that have long resided in my mind) so honestly and helpfully.â
Â
âThis has been such a helpful courseâone that I will revisit periodically⌠maybe frequently! The information is so practical and challenging but the tone is encouraging!â
Â
"I have recently started taking your wife school course and itâs so amazing! Thank you for sharing your wisdom! Thank you for being obedient!"
Â
"I just wanted to say thank you for your course! I just found you through your reel yesterday, but Iâve been more and more aware over the last few weeks just how much Iâve been letting my attitude affect my marriage and my view of my husband. We have a really lovely marriage, but itâs slowly been fading into the background of our priorities as we parent three young children. And my stress and exhaustion and heaviness often gets regurgitated onto my husband these days. Your course was exactly what I need right now... my marriage means so much to me, and I think I knew everything Iâm hearing, but to hear it said out loud by someone else makes it hit and convict so much deeper. So thank you!"
Â
"This is super convicting, but so helpful! The things that started out as âhelpfulâ several years ago have morphed into empty habits and I can definitely see a major difference in where I am now versus what my expectations/intentions were with helpful little comments and reminders. Ick!"
Â
"'Recognizing that sometimes his priorities might be different than yours and you need to get over it.' I genuinely appreciate that you are direct in some of your teaching. I think the world needs more of that. Sometimes people are so worried about stepping on others toes that they skirt around the truth. I am really enjoying this whole thing, so far!"
Â
âTilley, Iâm sure youâre getting this a lot, thank you for taking time to do the wife school, what a gift it has been to my marriage, the Lord has used it to restore the warmth and joy that I so desperately wanted and to work to root out sin in my heart, thank you for saying hard things and for calling us to obedience! I appreciate you sister!â
Â
âI got married in March to a pastor, so your example and insights as a faithful pastor's wife have felt like an older sister's encouragement to me. As a new wife, I so appreciated the "ride the bike" approach of your course. I read a lot of books leading up to marriage, but none of them rolled up their sleeves and got into real life like you did. I'm hopeful your wisdom can help me unlearn bad habits toward my husband before I'm married for 20 years and they've had time to set in like concrete.
âSince your course, I've found myself practicing The Art of Zipping It in those moments when my husband pours 36 raw eggs into one skillet that I know won't hold them all. Thanks to your wisdom and the grace of Christ, I quietly helped him clean egg yolk off the cabinets and floor without stating all the obvious comments that were on the tip of my tongue. He noticed this and expressed how grateful he was for my patience.â
Â
âTilly - thank you SO very much for pulling this together. It has been a tremendous blessing to me in this 35 year of being married. Wow, has the Spirit convicted me and given me new spring in my step to pour into this union for His glory and the good of my husband and children and grandchildren. I am truly excited to be inviting the women at my church to listen and work through this together in March.â
Â
"I am so thankful for your obedience to the Lord and making this course! I am going thru it and can't wait to see how the Lord uses it in my personal life and in my marriage! Lesson one has been very thought provoking!!"
Â
"Tilly, this is so good. God surely led me here. Thank you for putting this out!"
Â
"I love how you say it's actually God doing a project on him. Oh how I need to remind myself often that I am not my husbands Holy Spirit."
Â
"Thank you, Tilly!! This is encouraging and convicting!"
Â
And these are just a few of the hundreds of women who have gone through Wife School and found renewed encouragement to pursue faithfulness in their marriages.
